What is Groove?

The Whispers
Formed in 1964, The Whispers inserted a totally mature sound and with many variations in its sound, the bass lines are wonderful and marked history, we can feel the strong influence of R&B, The Whispers is a vocal group, plus the band and the lines musicals are amazing, a genius job. Soon we will do an article about the bassist of this sensational band. The band’s heyday was in the 70’s and 80’s.

Tower of Power
This band is something from another world, with R&B, Funk and Soul characteristics, we can notice the richness of the Grooves led by Francis ‘Rocco’ Prestia (Deceased in 2020) their groove lines are simple but complex, with a totally dancing bass by all the music. Its phantom notes provide a great swaying session for the songs.

The Temptations
This band can never be left out, they are responsible for producing songs that marked a generation, the bass lines are incredible, they may seem simple, but hide a wealth of information behind, a mix of R&B, doo-wop, funk, disco, soul and adult contemporary.

Jamiroquai
It’s a British Funk and Acid Jazz band that produced and still produces amazing music, how can we define the bass of this band? The bass has amazing groove lines and many variations, bringing a lot more life to the songs.

Brick
Formed in 1976, it was very successful in the 70’s with its style that merged Funk and Jazz, for sure you need to hear many songs produced by him, a very mature sound and with a lot of balance in the bass lines.
