Grooveiros, let’s get one more question out of our community.
Who has never encountered that cruel doubt, which bass to use a Precison or Jazz Bass?
Well, today I’m going to bring you some simple explanations, to clarify your ideas and give you a direction so you can choose with more focus and direction.
The two models are too top, in all honesty, I am a mega fan of the 2, however, some still have the doubt of which one to choose, the best answer would be, do a test, make an evaluation if the sound of the Preciosion or Jazz Bass, it meets what you like and looks for, there are people who enjoy a more bass sound, close, while others prefer a more cracked and open sound.
Without much ado, I will put down here its main features.
PRECISION
It has a wider neck than Jazz Bass, not so much, but it has more. It contains 1 precision pickup, its output is higher, it has a fuller and very serious tone, generating a killer weight. It has a sound very close to Contra Baixo, of course, well timbrado.
JAZZ BASS
A much more versatile model with a more defined sound, it has a comfortable neck, has 2 single pickups.
It has a more moderate output, medium tone and very defined treble. Very used, dominates the market, you find 4 or 5 strings, I don’t remember seeing Jazz Bass 6 strings, I may be mistaken, but I haven’t seen it yet.
SUMMARY:
Whatever model above is awesome, nowadays we have several features such as pedals to make a tone more Precision or more Jazz Bass, so we have to evaluate, you can get balanced and well-defined tones from a Precicion, as long as you use pedals and others, this is just an example, but feel free to make your choice, knowing that whatever model you choose, will provide great sound.
